50 cases of fracture of pelvis admitted to orthopaedic department of Kyungpook National University Hospital during past 5. years from 1962 to 1967 were reviewed and clinical results were obtained as follows:
1. The fracture of the pelvis seemed to be rather common, 6.2% of all fractures
2. Recently the fracture of the pelvis seemed to be increasing in it´s incidence annually.
3. The causes of fracture of the pelvis were mostly traffic accident (72%), coal miner, accident
(10%), falling and stumbling (10%) and direct blunt force(8%).
4. Fracture sites were in pubic. rami, 68.3%, Malgaigne 10%, fracture of the acetabulum 5.8%, and separation of the symphysis pubis 6.6%.
5. The other associated injuries were 6 cases of urethral rupture, 4 cases of bladder rupture, 2 cases of nerve injury, 2 cases of hemothorax, 2 cases of pneumothorax, 2 cases of hemopneumothorax and 14 cases of the other bone fractures.
